The Little Manatee River State Park offers a mix of facilities to enhance several activities in the great Florida outdoors.

Hiking: A 6.5 mile hiking trail that travels through a diversity of habitats is accessible in the park's wilderness area on the north side of the Little Manatee River.

Picnicking & Day Use: Picnic tables and shelters are located along the river in the park picnic area. A playground is located close to the picnic area.

In coordination with the Friends, the Park offers over 12 miles of maintained equestrian trails. The park also offers a separate equestrian campground area with four camp sites and basic stable facilities. A new day use equestrian parking lot is nearing completion to expand the riding opportunities. This major joint project between the Friends and the park will be added to in the future to include picnic areas and further equestrian improvements. Join us and lend your efforts to this project.

The park offers a 29 site campground with water and electric hookups for tent and RV camping with a full bath house and laundry facilities. RV sanitation facilities are close by. A separate section of the camping area has 4 sites with stables available for equestrian use.

A primitive camp area is available along the river for tent camping for groups of up to 20 people and for individuals. Vehicle access to the main primitive camp is permitted. Bathhouse and water facilities are located approximately ¼ mile away in the 29 site campground.

A separate primitive camp in the north section of the park is available by reservation only. A 3 mile hike is required to get to this camp and there are no facilities available.

The Little Manatee River flows through the park, offering excellent canoeing and kayaking along a state designated trail and elsewhere along the length of the river. The park has a few canoes for rent by the hour or rentals and services are available from local outfitters in the area.

Freshwater fishing opportunities include bass, bream and catfish. Occasionally, saltwater species also find their way up river in to the park. Be sure to check state fishing regulations for required licenses and restrictions.
